I just found out about the reunion. I'm guessing plans are already underway for the reunion and the location is final. I think San Diego would have been a much better location, can we still vote. What other information is available about location, etc.

There are now two new hotels in Bremerton as well a a newly developed water front. With Navy lodge availability in Bremerton and Silverdale, this might work as a good place to have the reunion. The light rail is now complete from the airport to the ferry docks so those using air or train for travel have easy access to Bremerton via the ferry system.

There are beaches in Seattle. Lots of water around there. The weather is generally warm and mild. Seattle was picked because that is where we commissioned the McKee. That was her "beginning".

Sorry to say it folks, but things have changed for me in the past months. Due to job cuts and the economy the way it is, I have to resign my post. All I can hope is that someone else is willing to take up the torch and run with this reunion idea.

We had that many small boats, in the begining we could carry them all but we stoped. We never made any big deployments either so we left a few... The bow is missing 1st div lpo locker however. model looks generic... it did bring back emotions. |

Take a closer look at the photos on the site, especially the 03 level.(The level with the cranes.) Note the # of small boats. I'm pretty sure we never had that many boats onboard. Not too accurate if you ask me. |

Well, I seem to have at least 1 volunteer for the committee, Kevin Senter. Welcome Kevin.

We need to get a count on the number of members that will be attending. This needs to be done before we can do anything else. So, please, if you can help, it would be appreciated. August will be here before we know it! 10 months will go fast!

Hello all,
I find myself in need of new volunteers for the reunion committee, as it seems the previous committee has jumped ship. I will need at least 4 other members to assist with planning, meet and greet, and hospitality.
It looks like our first annual reunion will be held in Seattle, with a tenative start date of August 13th, and ending on the 16th. I will need help with contacting former crew members, and getting an estimate of how many plan to attend.
