11 January 2011 - It is with regret that I announce that according to the February 2010 report to Congress by the Director, Warfare Integration, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations both the USS Simon Lake (AS 33) and USS McKee (AS 41) have been designated for dismantling. That is all that I am aware of now but if I hear any updated informationn I will post it here at the USS McKee AS-41 website

06 January 2010 - I have seen several comments about image file sizes not being large enough for your pictures. Please read this update about uploading your pictures and their sizess.

We had that many small boats, in the begining we could carry them all but we stoped. We never made any big deployments either so we left a few... The bow is missing 1st div lpo locker however. model looks generic... it did bring back emotions.

Take a closer look at the photos on the site, especially the 03 level.(The level with the cranes.) Note the # of small boats. I'm pretty sure we never had that many boats onboard. Not too accurate if you ask me.
