11 January 2011 - It is with regret that I announce that according to the February 2010 report to Congress by the Director, Warfare Integration, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations both the USS Simon Lake (AS 33) and USS McKee (AS 41) have been designated for dismantling. That is all that I am aware of now but if I hear any updated informationn I will post it here at the USS McKee AS-41 website

06 January 2010 - I have seen several comments about image file sizes not being large enough for your pictures. Please read this update about uploading your pictures and their sizess.

Time is running out folks, we need to have your votes tallied by the 15th, and today is the 11th! Ray, if you read this, please close the poll out on the 16th and if possible, get the results to me if I don't have a chance to check it on the 15th. I would appreciate it.

I will be getting with the Committee members this weekend and early next week to work on getting the word out to the membership about the reunion. We will also start the planning stage, but won't be in full swing on that until the end of the month. Per some of your request, it has been taken under advisment to hold the reunion in Mid- August due to school start dates. We will explore that possibility and relay the information to the members.

So let's get the votes in folks, remember, it only takes one vote to lose an election! And it will take only one vote to make a difference in where the first annual McKee reunion is held.
