11 January 2011 - It is with regret that I announce that according to the February 2010 report to Congress by the Director, Warfare Integration, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations both the USS Simon Lake (AS 33) and USS McKee (AS 41) have been designated for dismantling. That is all that I am aware of now but if I hear any updated informationn I will post it here at the USS McKee AS-41 website 06 January 2010 - I have seen several comments about image file sizes not being large enough for your pictures. Please read this update about uploading your pictures and their sizess. |

I started out in R-2 machine shop. I worked there from 85-87 and then moved to QA dept. R-8. I had a lot of fun on the McKee. Would love to hear from any of you.
